Hi, I’m Allie. Welcome to My Beautifully Chaotic World of Art.
I have always had a deep love and appreciation for art. Not one kind of art. Not one style. Not one medium. Pretty much all of it.
Art school gave me the foundation. It taught me technique, design, composition, art history, and the importance of preserving the creative work of those who came before us. More importantly, it opened my eyes to just how enormous the world of art really is.
And naturally, I wanted to try everything.
I am an unapologetically eclectic artist. Blessed with ADHD and an endless supply of curiosity, I have spent my life bouncing happily between mediums. Painting. Drawing. Digital art. Graphic design. Photography. Murals. Sculpture. Crafts. Mixed media. Design. If someone puts an interesting art supply in front of me, there is a very good chance I am going to figure out what I can make with it.
I love the old masters and weird little handmade things. I love traditional techniques and digital experimentation. I love beautiful things, strange things, imperfect things, colorful things, and art that makes you stop and feel something.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that creating art was only part of what I loved.
I love teaching it.
I love watching someone go from “I’m not artistic” to holding something they made with their own hands and realizing, “Wait... I made this.”
That little spark matters to me. And that is really the heart behind Surfindago.
Surfindago grew from my belief that art belongs to everyone. You do not need an art degree. You do not need expensive supplies. You do not need to know the “right” way to create. You need curiosity, a willingness to make a mess, and permission to try.
Through Surfindago, I get to bring together all the wonderfully scattered pieces of my artistic life. Fine art. Prints. Photography. Digital design. Handmade creations. Unique merchandise. Professional design work. Art education. Community projects. And whatever creative rabbit hole I wander down next.
Teaching and giving back to my community have become especially important parts of that journey. I want Surfindago to be more than a place where art is sold. I want it to be a place where art is shared, taught, explored, preserved, celebrated, and occasionally made with paint all over the table.
Because creativity is not supposed to fit neatly into a box.
Neither do I.
And Surfindago never will.
